Why Singapore is Uniquely "Democratic"
The difference in Singapore, however, is that the Government controls and monopolises the mass media.

Not even the most private aspects of human behaviour have escaped the PAP's interference.

Why I Left Military Security Department, MINDEF
I resigned from the Ministry of Defence's Military Security Department in Oct. 1976 because, chiefly, I was impatient to become a full-time writer and also, secondly, because I was disillusioned with the secret information and reports that I was reading as a clerical officer in the Registry.
For the next few years, I tried to get journalistic work -- mainly from the The Straits Times. But I didn't succeed as the pro-PAP Government paper rejected all my writings and contributions.
So I began on a long journey of undertaking a series of jobs of menial nature -- in order to earn my livelihood. Although I managed to support myself in these low-paying jobs, I wasn't happy -- as my creative and critical faculties were not allowed to express themselves in published works.
Until now, that is. With the present blog, "The Traveller", I can henceforth express myself as openly and honestly as I can -- without fear of being rejected.
I'm a man of about 55 with a touch of anger in my laughter, but no triumph, no malignity. I'm a man who is always fighting against something, but who fights in the open and is not frightened. I'm a man who is generously angry -- in other words, a 21st-century democrat, a free intelligence, a type hated with equal hatred by all the little PAP lackeys which are now contending for our souls.
Expectedly, these lackeys of the PAP Government have been spying on me during the greater part of my life. (I would like to read their dossier on me one day -- on what kind of man, citizen, human being and writer I really am.) I know people would speculate about the extent of my links to our secret service, and some would even claim that I am in the service's employ. But there is nothing secretive about my background and my life. I am just an unsuccessful writer who happened to have joined MSD in the early years of my young adulthood.
My crucial experience is my continuing struggle to turn myself into a writer, one which has led through long periods of poverty, failure and humiliation.

Opposition To The Autocratic & Authoritarian PAP Government
The power and economic elite in Singapore cannot thrive without the continual support and presence of foreign MNCs, which are only interested in and motivated by profit-making -- at the expense of the people of Singapore. And yet, our PAP leaders presume to speak up for the people of Singapore when they stress the importance of MNCs to our economic growth. Do the people of Singapore sincerely believe what these ruling puppets and chatterboxes say?
We, democrats in Singapore, should courageously judge this lying PAP Government for what it is -- that is our only moral value. We should not resign ourselves to this regime of hypocrisy which has as much right to call itself democratic as the executioners of the Inquisition had to call themselves Christians.
I hope with all my heart that the brave resistance of the people of Singapore will endure, will grow stronger, and, reinforced by all the voices which we can hear in the Singapore Democratic Party website, will induce unanimous international opinion to boycott our oppressive PAP Government.
